Peanut
Peanut is great at helping out with Melodia's administrative tasks and is particularly good at filing, sitting on checks and tending to concert programs. One of her favorite things to do is socializing with Melodians when they come to visit.
Jenny Clarke - alto 1 and founder of Melodia

Jenga!
This big hunk of love is Jenga. He’s the happiest, snuggliest, and clumsiest cat in the city. With a purr like a motorboat engine and a glass-breaking operatic meow, the only thing keeping him from joining the Melodia ranks is the fact that he’s a boy. Sorry, Jenga.
Steff
(Melodia 2nd Soprano)

Mia
Mia is quite helpful at the computer. She answers emails, updates my webpage, and pretty much entered every note of “Mornings With You.” Mia the cat - soprano 1, diva extraordinaire.

Liana
Here’s a photo of Liana reading her birthday card from her Grandma! Liana likes sleeping, snoozing, napping, and snuggling. She’s also a huge fan of eating :-) Her fur is as soft as a cloud and I love her to pieces.

Grace
“Grace” came to me through my churchyard, apparently abandoned there. I chose the name because I felt I could use a little grace in my life. She immediately became known as Grace Kelly Cat, though, since she is a bit of a princess.

Sammy
Sammy loves coming to Melodia rehearsals and listening to the beautiful music we make. Along with enjoying the sweet sound of female voices, Sammy loves car rides, napping, playing with socks, and people food.

Violet
Violet (“what is violet?”). I named her that because her eyes were a dark blue when she was a tiny kitten.

Charlie
Charlie is a BIG Melodia fan! Sometimes we happen by the beautiful sound of one of their rehearsals on our walks around the neighborhood. Charlie always stops and listens - he thinks they sound like angels…

Lionel
Katie Albin’s Siamese is very talkative and loving, and, to our surprise, a huge Donovan fan.

Toby
Toby in Snow
Toby doesn’t get off the mountain much and certainly hasn’t been to the big city, but he sends his best to Melodia for the spring concert. He does wish that more Melodia family members would come visit him in NC.

Bailey
I have taken the liberty of posting a photo of Bailey, beloved midnight-black kitty of Colleen (alto 1). Bailey and I are good buddies, and I like taking photos of her with my phone whenever I get the chance. —Rachel (alto)

Sadie and Max
Sadie is black. Max has the sweater. Both love music. When I sing and play the guitar, they will wander into the room from wherever they are in the house. It goes without saying that they are huge Melodia fans. In fact, they are part of the Melodia West Coast fan club.

Ella
Little Ella keeps herself warm by sleeping on the heater (as pictured) or on her (human) mommy’s head. She’s a neurotic little princess who loves chasing her tail in an empty bathtub and snuggling…on her own terms.

Oliver and Max
Ollie and Maxie are not related, although they look alike. They were both stray cats—one from Jersey, one from Long Island…and when they met, they were bff’s from the start. —Rachel, Alto 2

Chita
This lady has some serious attitude, a taste for yogurt and a love of Godard movies. What can I say, she’s Parisian!

Shelby and Charley
Meet Shelby the beagle and Charley the toy poodle. Both love cuddling. Shelby’s amazing hound dog nose makes her favorite activity roaming through the woods, while Charley’s endless energy lends itself to hours of playing. Both dogs and owners are fans from afar! They are the proud niece and nephew dogs of Jenny (founder of Melodia!)

Smokey
Mornings with….Smokey! He’s a big grey kitty who was rescued from an alley in Brooklyn. He loves to be held upside down, then swung between my legs while I hold him under his front arms. Mostly he likes to sleep, usually atop the cable box, but occasionally in the chair as pictured. Good boy, Smokey!

Ella
My sweet Ella! I haven’t been able to be with her this last year while auditioning for grad school but we will be reunited soon! I’m an alto with the Melodia Women’s Choir and am pursuing a career in opera. She’s always my #1 fan.
